WOW… hello everyone. I want to start out this blog by apologizing to my loyal following of readers such as my mom, players, and various baseball people who still doubt that I can put a solid sentence structure together. This has been quite the year and it’s not even half way through yet ! I wish I could sit here and tell you how everything has been going our way and we are cruising through victories, but that has not been happening. In the D2 East Region not many things have been going according to pre season polls or the traditional powers every league has been turned upside down and especially in our conference the CACC it could not be any more upside down. That’s what makes baseball the greatest game around and why you play the games anything can and will happen on the diamond. Our team has perplexed the coaching staff all year. We have the talent, we have the pitching, we have the defense, we have the sticks to beat a lot of teams. We split a double header earlier in the year with top 15 ranked national power Franklin Pierce in Myrtle Beach, we recently played #19 Le Moyne who just dropped down from D1 and put up 11 runs with a wood bat and had two players one hit each away from the cycle. Then other games we struggle against teams we should handle. It’s very frustrating knowing the talent we have and seeing the down times but as of late we are turning things around. We are using our “offensive strategy” Hit by pitches and triples to our advantage we are currently in the top 20 in the NCAA in both HBP’s and Triples per game in D2. The players joke that if any big school needs a triple specialist hitting coach they should give me a call this is the 4th year that a Post Eagle team is ranked in the nation in triples per game!

Some funny things around the program is the instant fame of our first year Outfield coach Brian Stasaitis, Stosh.0 as he is known in Eagle land. Our Redshirt Junior Jackson Geary who transferred from Coastal Carolina has taking an quick liking to Coach so much that he takes pictures of everything that he does. From the airport, trying on sunglasses, sleeping on the bus, or on the treadmill odds are Jackson is there with his Iphone getting ready for his photo opp. Stosh takes it all in stride even when the pitching staff follows him around the field in a duck row an antic they call Old Mother Stosh, gets a big laugh out of me every time. That is what makes college baseball so great from Mustache March, the different handshakes for everything, the freshman walk up songs it makes the college game very special and something that I am always grateful to be a part of. Here is a picture of the legend of the man we call
Stosh!

This is a big week as we have four conference games and 14 total games this month as it’s a sprint to make a playoff push. I am sure a playoff mustache might be called into full effect. This season is far from over we are just getting into the good part of conference and every game will be a fight. This team is starting to come into its own and I think we are ready to make a push and fully figure it out. We have gotten a little healthy and hopefully a lot more confident. There is a ton of work to do both on and off the field for every us and I am sure we will be ready to answer the call. This team is resilient and with all of the craziness of this season I don’t think I can say I have never seen that before ever again. Makes me think I should have been writing a book about this year but I doubt anyone would believe it. Well that’s it for this time. I promise to come back next week and give you a more in depth look into the day of our program. Until next week if you can’t get enough of the stosh or my antics you can follow me on twitter @CoachRix8
