LOS ANGELES — The USC Trojans improved to 7-0 on the young season, sweeping Akron over the weekend at Dedeaux Field. The Trojans have received solid starting pitching, allowing them to minimize bullpen innings.
The USC bats have been led by a quartet of versatile players — one from each class — as Garrett Stubbs, Kevin Swick, Adam Landecker and Brandon Garcia, who have each excelled while playing multiple positions this season. Senior Alex Sherrod also broke out this weekend with a pair of towering home runs to right field.
