Georgia Southern: Blue 4 White 4
STATESBORO, Ga. – Strong outings by starters Justin Hess (Panama City, Fla.) and Sam Howard (Carterville, Ga.) capped off a weekend of Georgia Southern Baseball scrimmages at J.I. Clements Stadium. What opened in a pitcher’s duel ended in a 4-4 tie after both teams scored three runs each in the eighth and final inning.
The White team took a three-run lead on Casey Kicklighter’s (Jesup, Ga.) two-run homer in the top of the eighth, before the Blue team tied it up in the bottom half of the inning. Three-straight hits opened the bottom half and scored a run before Scooter Williams (Detroit, Mich.) and Victor Roache (Ypsilanti, Mich.) tied the game with RBI singles.

Chapel Hill, N.C.- The North Carolina Tar Heels braved the elements to hold a seven-and-a-half inning scrimmage on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The home Heel squad took a 6-5 win after scoring the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh.
With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the third, Tommy Coyle’s two-out bases-loaded single up the middle drove in two runs for a 4-2 Heel lead. The Tar squad was down 5-3 going into the top of the seventh before they scored two runs to tie the score before Heel plated the winning run in the bottom of the inning.
