Titan Baseball Season Preview with Rick Vanderhook
FROM CBD NEWS SOURCE
Fullerton, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Head Coach Rick Vanderhook sat down with Sports Information Director Mike Greenlee to discuss the upcoming 2012 baseball season in detail from atop Goodwin Field.
Vanderhook, just the fifth Titan head coach in 38 years at the Div. I level, is getting his first taste of college baseball as a head coach after nearly three decades as an assistant coach. He was a player for Augie Garrido’s 1983 and 1984 Titans and became an assistant to the legendary skipper in 1985. Since then, with an exception of two seasons (1989-90) with then-Cal State Northridge Head Coach Bill Kernen and the last three seasons with John Savage’s UCLA Bruins, “Hook” has been in a Titan uniform for a school record 22 seasons.
