TAMPA – USF’s 2012 baseball schedule is set and it’s packed with heavy hitters from last season.
The Bulls will face seven schools that are coming off NCAA Tournament appearances starting with a three-game series at home against Bethune-Cookman Friday, Feb. 24 to Sunday, Feb. 26.
Action against tournament teams continues with a single game Feb. 28 at UCF before the Bulls head home to face Jacksonville March 6-7. USF will play Stetson in DeLand on April 3.
USF will be in Gainesville on April 24 to play Florida, and the final two series against tournament teams are May 4-6 at St. John’s and May 11-13 at home against Connecticut.
The Bulls begin Big East play Friday, March 23 with a three-game home set against Georgetown followed by three more games in Tampa against Notre Dame March 30-April 1.
USF will get its season started at the Big Ten-Big East Challenge Feb. 17-19 against Ohio State, Michigan State and Minnesota at locations in St. Petersburg and Clearwater.
The Bulls will step out of college and head up to the big leagues to face the New York Yankees in an annual exhibition game March 2 at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
The Big East Championships are returning to Clearwater May 23-27 and NCAA Regional play is set to begin June 1. The College World Series is Jun 15-26 in Omaha, Neb.
