CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The 2012 Harvard baseball schedule is now complete and available for viewing. Head coach Joe Walsh’s team will play a 40-game regular season schedule beginning March 2.
The Crimson opens play the weekend of March 2-4 with a three-game set in Tucson, Ariz. against the Arizona Wildcats.
The following week sees the team travel to Florida with 10 games in as many days. The Crimson plays a four-game set at Stetson, three games at Bethune-Cookman and three games at the University of Central Florida.
Once back north, Harvard plays three more road nonconference games before stepping into Ivy League play. On March 24-25, the Crimson will play a two-game set at Army before playing at Holy Cross on March 28 in a 5 p.m. twilight game.
Harvard travels to Cornell March 31 for an Ivy twinbill and plays the following day, April 1 at Princeton.
The team opens its home schedule April 4 with a single game against Boston College. That same weekend, April 7-8, Harvard hosts Columbia and Penn in a pair of doubleheaders.
Harvard will once again compete in the annual Beanpot Tournament with Boston College, Northeastern and Massachusetts. Dates for those games are currently April 10 and 18. Harvard takes on BC in the first round in a rematch of last year’s championship game. This year’s contests will be played at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass.
The Ivy League championship series is slated for May 5-6 at the site of the higher seeded team. NCAA Tournament play begins June 1.
