As one of the top-ranked baseball prospects in the state of Texas, Klein Collins senior infielder C.J. Hinojosa was set to enroll at the University of Texas in January. However, despite signing a financial aid agreement with the Longhorns in October, Hinojosa will remain in high school for one more semester before heading to Texas next fall.
“Texas is like a brotherhood,” Hinojosa explained. “I really wanted to get up to Austin during the spring so it’s very disappointing and I wish I would have completed all of the credits. I gave it my all and I guess it wasn’t meant to be. I can’t change it now so I just have to pick up where I am and continue to get better.”
