Here is your October 11th Fall Ball Update.

Indiana: Cream 4 Crimson 0

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Powered by five innings of no-hit baseball for starting pitcher Chad Martin, Team Cream took a 1-0 advantage in the IU Baseball Cream vs. Crimson Series on Monday. A four-run fifth inning propelled Martin’s squad to a 4-0 victory in the series opener.

The contest remained scoreless entering the home half of the fifth until a string of four consecutive hits for Team Cream finally lit the scoreboard. Justin Cureton got the party started with a double to place himself in scoring position. Dustin DeMuth then drove in the first run of the day, poking an RBI-double. Back-to-back singles by Kyle Schwarber and Dillon Dooney followed, each pushing another run across the dish and putting Team Cream ahead 3-0. Dooney would circle around to home later in the inning, thanks to a Brian Ritz fly ball and RBI-single for Collin McEnery.

Wichita State: Gold 8 Black 4

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State Gold squad won the Shocker Fall World Series with an 8-4 win in game five.

Casey Gillaspie went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a home run for the Gold, while Tyler Coughenour went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Gold starter Kyle Vail earned the win. He threw four shutout innings with three strikeouts.

North Carolina: White 6 Blue 4

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Sophomore left-hander Hobbs Johnson threw four no-hit innings of relief to help lead the White Team past the Blue Team, 6-4, in the opening game of the Fall World Series Monday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. The teams will play game two of the first three game series on Tuesday with first pitch set for 2:30 p.m.
