Top 100 Countdown: 95. Cole Swanson (San Diego State)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 95 in San Diego State sophomore LHP Cole Swanson. The 6’5 195 pound lefty is from San Diego, California where he attended Torrey Pines High School picking up three letters. As a senior, he went 5-5 with one save and a 2.59 ERA in 13 appearances (nine starts). He was honored as an All-Avocado League honorable mention member after the season.

Swanson decided to continue his baseball career near home at San Diego State playing under Baseball Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn. Last season saw him make 15 appearances (nine starts). He went 4-2 with a 3.23 ERA in a team high 78 innings pitched. He struck out 61 batters while walking 32 batters.
