Ryan Myers has been hired as the new assistant baseball coach at Siena College. He will serve as the program’s hitting coach. Myers was a standout first basemen and catcher at Oneonta State where he graduated in 2009.
Before Siena, Myers played professional baseball in Europe for the Stuttgart Reds of the German Bundesliga (DBV) in Stuttgart, Germany. As a Red, he led the team in batting average and doubles despite spending a month on the disabled list due to shoulder injury. Upon his return, Myers helped lead his team to the German Baseball Championship, the first for the organization.
Myers led the Oneonta State in hitting three of his four years, and was named to the All-Region team his sophomore through senior seasons. He holds records for fielding percentage, doubles and RBI at Oneonta State. In his final season at Oneonta, he was selected as the preseason Player of the Year in the SUNYAC conference. Myers earned Team MVP his junior year.
Ryan graduated from Oneonta with a Criminal Justice degree.
