Oklahoma State catcher Dane Phillips will transfer to Arkansas immediately according to multiple reports including Baseball America’s Aaron Fitt. Phillips played in all 60 games last year for the Cowboys hitting .339 with four homers and 32 RBI. He was solid this summer in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Chatham Anglers hitting .349 with four homers and 34 RBI in 41 games.
Phillips is applying for a waiver of the transfer rules with the NCAA to be eligible for the 2012 season but it is highly doubtful that the request will be granted.
My honest prediction right now is Phillips will never step on the field for the Razorbacks and will end up being drafted in 2012. You can check out a full video of Phillips below from his Cape Cod Baseball League season.
