Orleans Firebirds 7 Brewster Whitecaps 7
The Orleans Firebirds and Brewster Whitecaps tied at 7 after nine innings due to the fact that Brewster does not have lights at their field. Stony Brook’s Maxx Tissenbaum led the Firebirds attack by going 3-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Michigan State’s Ryan Jones and Stony Brook’s Tanner Nivins each had three hits for the Whitecaps in the game.
Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox 7 Falmouth Commodores 5
The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox used a five run eighth inning to erase a 3-2 deficit to pick up a 7-5 win over the Falmouth Commodores. LSU’s Michael Katz and Boston College’s Anthony Melchionda each went 2-4 with an RBI to lead the Red Sox offense. Falmouth’s offensive star was Texas Tech’s Barrett Barnes who hit his first homer of the season.
Cotuit Kettleers 3 Bourne Braves 2
Cotuit rallied for two runs in the top of the ninth to defeat the Bourne Braves 3-2 to pick up the win. Bobby Wahl from Ole Miss got the save for the Kettleers by pitching a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning while Arkansas LHP Trent Daniel got the win after getting the final out of the eighth inning. Bourne reliever R.J. Alvarez (Florida Atlantic) got the loss by giving up both runs in te ninth.
Hyannis Harbor Hawks 9 Wareham Gatemen 5
UConn and Wareham Gatemen OF John Andreoli went 4-5 with an RBI to help lead the offense to but it wasn’t enough as the Harbor Hawks got a 9-5 victory. Purdue catcher Kevin Plawecki was the top Harbor Hawks hitter on the evening going 2-4 with 3 RBI.
Harwich Mariners 6 Chatham Anglers 0
Four Harwich Mariners pitchers combined on a three hit shutout to defeat the Chatham Anglers 6-0. Florida International’s Jabari Henry went 3-5 to lead the Mariners offense.
