Falmouth Commodores 4 Brewster Whitecaps 0

Falmouth and Bradley RHP Joe Bircher continued his dominance in the Cape Cod Baseball League on Friday evening pitching seven shutout innings giving up three hits and a walk while striking out six batters. Brewster’s Tony Bucciferro (Michigan State) was up for the challenge though as he also pitching seven shutout innings giving up only one hit and striking out five batters. The game came down to the bullpens as Commodores reliever Taylor Sandefur (Western Carolina) picked up the win by pitching a scoreless eighth while Josh Easley (NC State) picked up the save with a scoreless ninth inning. Max Garner (Baylor) got the loss by giving up four runs (one earned) in his two innings of work. Kansas State’s Jared King led the offense for Falmouth with two RBI on the day.

Wareham Gatemen 2 Cotuit Kettleers 0

Wareham’s Justin Amlung (Louisville) combined with three relievers on a 2-0 shutout over Cotuit. Baylor’s Max Muncy led the offense by going 1-3 with 2 RBI.

Yarmouth-Dennis 4 Harwich Mariners 3

Yarmouth-Dennis starting pitcher Alex Gonzalez (Oral Roberts) went 5.1 strong innings giving up one run while scattering five hits. Leading the Red Sox offense was James Ramsey, who went 2-4 with an RBI. Harwich starter Taylor Rogers was tagged with the loss giving up three runs in two innings.

Bourne’s Josh Conway (Coastal Carolina) went six innings giving up two hits and a run while striking out six batters and walking three to lead the Braves to the 5-1 victory over the Orleans Firebirds.

Hyannis Harbor Hawks 6 Chatham Anglers 1

Hyannis Kyle Kraus (Portland University) pitched 3.1 scoreless innings in relief as the Hyannis Harbor Hawks picked up a 6-1 victory over the Chatham Anglers. Arizona’s Joey Rickard led the Harbor Hawks offense by going 2-3 with a double and a triple while driving in two runs.
