Brewster Whitecaps 6 Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox 3
The Brewster Whitecaps defeated the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox 6-3 behind Tennessee’s Andrew Toles who went 3-5 with a run scored. UT-Arlington’s Preston Beck also chipped in with two hits including a homer to assist in the offensive attack. LSU Mason Katz went 2-3 with two doubles and an RBI in a losing effort with the Red Sox.
Hyannis Harbor Hawks 4 Cotuit Kettleers 3
Evansville’s Eric Stamets and Arizona’s Joey Rickard each picked up two hits for the Harbor Hawks as they defeated the Cotuit Kettleers 4-3 on Wednesday night. Oklahoma’s Ryan Gibson got the win in relief by giving up one hit in 5.1 innings of work while walking three and striking out seven. Purdue’s Nick Wittgren got the final out of the game to pick up the save. The loser was Tennessee Tech’s Cullen Park who gave up a run on four hits in only one inning of work.
Falmouth Commodores 6 Chatham Anglers 4
St. John’s Jeremy Baltz picked up two RBI to lead the Falmouth Commodores to a 6-4 victory over the Chatham Anglers. Andrew Heaney (Oklahoma State) got the victory by giving up two runs on four hits while walking three batters and striking our four during five innings of work. Rice John Simms got the save by pitching a scoreless ninth inning including striking out two batters. Wake Forest Tim Cooney was tagged with the loss by pitching four innings giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk.
Wareham Gatemen 8 Bourne Braves 4
UConn’s John Andreoli went 3-5 with a run scored and two RBI to help lead the Wareham Gatemen to a 8-4 victory over the Bourne Braves. Arkansas Barrett Astin picked up the win in relief by pitching 2.2 innings giving up one hit and one walk. Coastal Carolina’s Ryan Connolly got the loss giving up two runs on three hits while pitching only 1.2 innings.
Orleans Firebirds 5 Harwich Mariners 1
Stony Brook’s Tyler Johnson gave up two hits and a run in five innings of work while his bullpen of Kenny Long, John Brebbia, and Trevor Gott combined for four hitless innings to lead the Firebirds to the 5-1 victory over the Harwich Mariners.
