Hyannis Harbor Hawks 7 Cotuit Kettleers 2
Hyannis got a solid relief appearance from Purdue RHP Nick Wittgran who went 1.2 scoreless innings to get the win while Dietrich Enns got the save by pitching the final 3.1 innings by not allowing a hit or a walk. Jacksonville’s Adam Walker went 2-5 with a homer and three RBI to lead the Harbor Hawks.
Bourne Braves 5 Harwich Mariners 1
Bourne was led by UConn LHP Brian Ward who pitched five shutout innings giving up only two hits to lead the Braves to the 5-1 win over Harwich. Western Kentucky’s Tanner Perkins was the hard luck loser for the Mariners giving up only a single run in five innings of work. URI’s Mike Lebel was the top hitter on the day for the Braves going 2-5 with an RBI and a double.
Wareham Gatemen 3 Falmouth Commodores 1
Wareham got a great start from Harvard LHP Brent Suter who went five innings giving up four hits and one unearned run to pick up his second win of the season. Falmouth starter Jerry Battipaglia struggled in his 2.1 innings allowing seven hits and three runs.
Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox 5 Orleans Firebirds 4
Yarmouth Dennis and Florida State outfielder James Ramsey hit a three run homer in the fifth inning to lead the Red Sox attack and defeat the Firebirds 5-4. UC-Irvine RHP Andrew Thurman got the win for YD by working six innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five. St. John’s Kyle Hansen got the save by pitching the final three innings giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits. Southern Nevada’s Matt Dunbar was tagged with the loss after giving up four runs on six hits while only pitching four innings.
