CBD has confirmed that longtime Florida State assistant coach Jamey Shouppe will not be back for the 2012 season. He has served as the Seminoles pitching coach for the last 21 years. The Seminoles finished the season with a 46-19 overall record which was led mostly by the lineup as the pitchers struggled with a Team ERA of 3.81. It was led by All-American Sean Gilmartin who went 12-2 with a 2.02 ERA while no other pitchers with more then five starts had an ERA less then 4.00.
The pitching coach job at Florida State is one of the best in the country and should be interesting to see who ends up getting the position in the next couple of weeks.

Martin and FSU needed a scapegoat, they turned to Shouppe for the sacrifice. u00a0Where they should have been looking was at Martin himself. u00a0He’s done his time at FSU and needs to retire, so they can bring some positive energy to the program.n
