2011 NCAA Clemson Regional: Day 4 Recap

CLEMSON, S.C. – With a 14-1 win over Clemson on Monday night in the 2011 NCAA Clemson Regional Championship the Huskies now advance to the Super Regional where they will face South Carolina in Columbia beginning on Saturday, June 11.

Tonight’s win marks the fourth-straight victory for the Huskies in NCAA Tournament action as they improve to 45-18-1 on the year. The Super Regional will consist of a best-of-three series with the winner moving on to the College World Series in Omaha. The Huskies have been to the College World Series five times in program history.

Greg Nappo was named the 2011 Clemson Regional Most Valuable Player as he went 5.2 innings in his second start of the weekend. Nappo allowed five hits and one earned run, while he struck out four. With the win, he improves to 10-2 on the year, making him just the fourth all-time Husky to register 10 or more wins in a single season.
