Vanderbilt freshman RHP T.J. Pecoraro will miss the rest of the 2011 season with a torn ligament in his right arm. He suffered the injury last night against Georgia as he left the game with one out in the fourth inning. He got an MRI today and it revealed the tear in his UCL ligament.
T.J. had made 17 appearances including six starts while going a perfect 7-0 with a 1.59 ERA. He was also holding opponents to a .183 batting average against during his first campaign with the Commodores. It should be interesting to see how this affects the Vanderbilt pitching staff for the upcoming NCAA Tournament next week as Pecoraro was a key part of the pitching staff.
