According to Jimmy Hyams of WNML-AM, Tennessee head coach Todd Raleigh will be fired on Sunday after the Volunteers complete the 2011 season. It has been a tough season in Knoxville for the Volunteers as they are 24-29 while being a disappointing 6-22 in SEC play. Raleigh has never qualified for the SEC Tournament during his four year tenure with the Vols.
Jimmy Hyams posted the following tweet about the coaching change:
UT baseball coach Todd Raleigh to be fired Sunday. X-Vol Chris Burke leading candidate to replace Raleigh.
It would be very interesting if Tennessee went the way of hiring Chris Burke as the head coach since he has no collegiate coaching experience after a six year MLB playing career.
