  • Oregon State junior shortstop Ryan Dunn hit for the cycle in a 13-3 victory over Portland. Dunn completed the cycle in the eighth inning with a two run triple. The triple was Dunn’s first career triple with the Beavers after transferring from Orange Coast College.
  • How about the Big 10? They had a chance to make a big impact this week with Michigan hosting Texas Tech and Ohio State hosting Oklahoma State during midweek two game series. Texas Tech took care of business against the Wolverines by scoring five first inning runs to win 8-2. The meeting was the first time a Big 12 program played at Michigan during a regular season game. Oklahoma State rolled against Ohio State dismantling them in a 16-3 win.
  • Besides the Big 12 schools beating up on the Big Ten, Kentucky defeated Indiana 8-5 behind Chad Wright who went 3-5 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBI. The biggest loss by conference leader Michigan State to Western Michigan 10-4.
  • In a Texas sized battle between two schools in need of quality out of conference wins, TCU scored two eighth inning runs to break a 5-5 tie and held on to win 7-6 over the Baylor Bears. Kyle Von Tungeln hit an RBI single and Brance Rivera laid down a perfect squeeze to drive both runs in. The Bears would score a run in the top of the ninth but would strand the tying run at third. There was a spectacular catch in the game that can be checked out by clicking here.
