  • The biggest story from Tuesday night was the fact that UCF went into Gainesville and defeated the Florida Gators as they stopped a three game losing streak. Darnell Sweeney committed an error in the bottom of the eighth inning which gave the Gators the 3-2 lead heading into the ninth. Sweeney would redeem himself in the ninth by hitting a two run two out double which gave the Knights the 4-3 lead. They were able to hold the Gators scoreless in the bottom of the ninth to pick up the big win.
  • UCLA continues to struggle mid-week as they lost in 11 innings to UC-Riverside 5-4. Leading the Highlanders was Ryan Goetz who went 1-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
  • One of the teams that has been on absolute fire lately has been the Cal-State Fullerton Titans. They crushed Pepperdine at Goodwin Field by a score of 13-3. Carlos Lopez led the offense by driving in five runs in a nine run fourth inning. The victory as the Titans ninth straight and 13th in their last 14 outings.
  • The Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette picked up an impressive 2-0 victory over Rice behind the strong pitching of Jordan Nicholson who gave up seven hits in six shutout innings. He was relieved by Chase Traffica who didn’t give up a run while surrounding three hits and Caleb Kellogg pitched a perfect ninth inning to get his third save of the season.
