I thought last weekend’s series against Bradley was a disappointment. We got another solid pitching performance from Dan Russell on Friday night which we let go to waste because we couldn’t find a way to put runs on the board. Saturday, Zach Sterling went out and dealt and got us the win. Sunday was probably our worst game of the year. It’s hard to win when you give teams 5 outs an inning, walk batters, and don’t capitalize at the plate with runners in scoring position.
I believe in this team and I know we have the talent to beat anyone when we put it all together. We have an important mid-week game against Eastern Illinois to get us ready for our conference opener verse South Dakota State. It will be nice to finally have a home series at beautiful Alfred D. Boyer Stadium and sleep in my own bed. Things haven’t gone the way we expected thus far, but it’s in the past and we just have to learn from our mistakes and move on.
