Victories seem to be few and far between for the Leathernecks as we come closer and closer to the opening conference series against South Dakota State. For the most part, it seems like we have been shooting ourselves in the foot. Errors, walks, and giving away free bases have plagued us all season. Offensively, poor situational hitting like failing to get a man in from third with less than two outs has also hurt us. Our pitchers have been working hard, and we have wasted quality starts from both Zach Sterling and Dan Russell. We all know that we can play better than this, and we have had a few bright spots this season. It is time to turn the corner and get this season back on the right track.
The Leathernecks now look forward to a mid-week contest on Tuesday March 29th, against in state foe Illinois College. Following that we head to Peoria, Illinois for a three game series against Bradley from the Missouri Valley Conference. We will continue to work hard and improve every single day. If we can do that, wins will surely be much
easier to come by.
“Players that embrace the true meaning of wearing purple want to be out there and want the ball when the game is on the line. They want to win! They work hard and their dedication is paid back with victories!”
