Fresno St (18-2) remains #1 for the 4th week in a row after a perfect 4-0 week. Fresno St picked up a mid week win over Ohio St before taking 3 games from San Diego, including Saturdays 3-2 win in 22 innings.

TCU (15-8) stays at #2 going 3-1 on the week. TCU beat #3 Texas St 3-1 on Tuesday before winning 2 of 3 vs Houston…..Texas St (17-6) also stays put at #3 going 2-2 this week, dropping the mid week game to TCU before traveling to Lamar and winning series 2-1 and staying in first place tie in Southland at (8-1).

Stetson (20-5) continues its great early season play and moves up one spot to #4 this week. Stetson went 4-1 on week. On Wednesday the Haters went to Florida St and picked up a 6-4 win in 11 innings. In ASUN play Stetson won 2 of 3 vs ETSU……Elon (17-9) drops just one spot to #5 even after a 2-3 week. Last year Elon went to Clemson and took 2 mid week games from the Tigers this week they dropped both game but turned it around on weekend and won 2 of 3 from good Samford club in SOCON play.
Louisville (15-8) slides up 1 spot to #7 going 3-1 on the week. Louisville beat Kent St mid week before opening up Big East play taking 2 of 3 at Rutgers…….Also sliding up one spot, at #8, is Wichita St (17-8). Wichita St took 2 games from Air Force mid week before splitting 4 games at Oregon.
2 clubs dropped out of the top 10 for the first time all year. College of Charleston (16-9) drops 4 spots to #11. The Cougars have now dropped 6 of 7 games including a 1-3 record this week. Tuesday CofC went to Columbia and took a 24-4 beating and could not right the ship on the weekend as Georgia Southern came to town winning 2 of 3 in SOCON play……..Coastal Carolina (15-10) drops 3 spots to #13 after a 2-2 week including dropping a shocking Big South series. The week started out nicely for Coastal scoring 2 runs in top of 9th to win 6-5 at The Citadel. A year ago Coastal went a perfect 25-0 in the Big South and their undefeated run in 2011 did not last long, dropping 2 of 3 at UNC-Asheville. On Sunday UNCA scored a run in btm 9th to tie it then Coastal scored 2 in top of 11th only to have UNCA score 2 of their own before getting a run in btm of 12th to win game 7-6 and take the series.
That meant 2 new clubs for the top 10. Charlotte (19-6) moves up 4 spots to #9 going 4-1 on week. Charlotte won at Wake Forest and NCCU mid week and took 2 of 3 games in Atlantic 10 action vs Rhode Island…….Florida Atlantic (16-8) gets into top 10 at #10 sweeping MTSU in Sunbelt play.
Just outside the top 10 two more clubs had rough weeks. Pittsburgh (13-8) drops 3 spots to #14 going 1-3 on the week. Pitt lost to Akron Wedneday before dropping 2 of 3 at UCONN to start Big East play…….SE Louisiana (15-9) also drops 3 spots to #15 going 2-2 on week including dropping Southland series at Central Arkansas.
Cal St Bakersfield (18-6) moves up 3 spots to #12 taking 2 of 3 vs Ohio St.
Georgia Southern (15-10) moves up to #16 with a 3-1 week. GSU beat Kennesaw St mid week then traveled to Charleston and took a huge SOCON series at College of Charleston. One of most impressive things about this past weekend was GSU did not allow one HR to CofC all weekend. Sundays 7-1 by GSU was Head Coach Rodney Hennon’s 500 career win……Western Kentucky (16-7) moves up to #18 with a very nice road series win also. WKU went to FIU and took 2 of 3 and picked up a mid week win vs Austin Peay…….FIU (15-11) drops down 4 spots to #20 with a 2-3 week including the series loss to WKU and splitting 2 mid week games at North Florida.
Samford (16-10) drops 3 spots to #22 after a 1-3 week. Samford lost at Ole Miss 3-0 midweek before dropping series at #5 Elon…..UNLV (18-9) drops 4 spots to #24 also going 1-3 on the week. The week started out great for UNLV as they beat UC-Irvine at home 4-3 Wednesday but went to New Mexico and got swept in MWC play…….UT-Arlington (14-10) hangs on top top 25 falling one spot to #25 after a 2-2 week. UTA dropped a mid week game at Baylor before winning 2 of 3 vs NW St.
Two clubs dropped out of top 25. #21 Georgia St (20-6) falls out of top 25 after a 2-2 week. Georgia St beat Kennesaw St mid week but lost 2 of 3 to VCU. Losing 2 of 3 at home to VCU did them in………The other club to drop out of top 25 was #25 ETSU (14-7). ETSU went 2-3 on week, splitting 2 mid week games with Radford and losing 2 of 3 at #4 Stetson.
Texas A&M CC (19-8) enters this weeks rankings at #21 after sweeping McNeese St in Southland play. The Islanders have won 7 in a row and are off to the best start in school history at (19-8).
Stony Brook (12-5) joins the top 25 at #23. Stony Brook’s Nick Tropeano and Brandon McNitt combined to no-hit Army Sunday winning 1-0. It was Stony Brook’s 2nd no-hitter of the season already. On 3/18 Frankie Vanderka thew a no-hitter in Stony Brook’s 14-1 win over NJ Tech. The Seawolves were only able to get 2 games in this week due to rain, getting wins over Fordham and Army.
