Texas freshman infielder Alex Silver was diagnosed with cancer in January. He recently completed treatments and was cleared to play for the Longhorns this past weekend. He has not made an appearance yet but could see his first action in the coming weeks. Heading into the season, Silver was expected to compete for the starting job at third base and could be an impact bat in the Longhorns lineup. You can check out a full video report from ABC 13 below on Silver completing treatments.
