After a rough opening series against Samford we realize we have a lot of work to do in order to be the team we want to become in May. With a team loaded with newcomers this first series was a huge learning experience for us and I’m confident we will bounce back and play much better baseball this coming weekend when we head on the road to play Georgia State.
The scoreboard doesn’t necessarily say everything about this past weekend at Samford. We had some guys throw great for us and if they continue to get better each and every outing they will consistently put us in a position to win all year long. We came out in game one and swung it fairly well but struggled the rest of the series to get runners across the plate. This will not be the case for very long as we have a very potent line-up; once we get rolling it will be tough to keep us off the bases.
We have a few days before we load the bus and head off to Georgia State and we will be getting better each day. We are very disappointed with the way we came out and played and it is motivating us that much more to get better each day and prove to ourselves and others that this purple army isn’t one to be taken lightly.
I’m excited to get back on the diamond this weekend!

Until next time,
