Welcome to my yearly Pre-season college baseball top 99 (draft eligible) players. (PART 1|Part 2) This list is not meant to be a prediction of draft position, although in some sense it wont be too far off. My list is more about who I think will have more success at the next level. This is not a science. It is purely my opinion after watching video, talking to scouts and scouting some of the players personally. This is the pre-season list which in all honesty shouldn’t really even be attempted. A chunk of these players won’t even be in the story by years end and many others will need to be included. This list is purely a vehicle to make you aware of what the college landscape and the MLB draft might look like. I will do this all over again after the college season is over. 25. Harold Martinez Miami – 3B
26. Will Lamb Clemson – OF/LHP
27. Andrew Gagnon Long Beach St. – RHP FB at 90-92, Very good CH, Excellent command, Could move quickly getting to the show.
28. Andrew Susac Oregon St. – C Solid behind the dish with a consistent and solid bat. They dont grow on trees.
29. Brett Mooneyham Stanford – LHP Tall and projectable body. FB at 89-93, Nice CB, Some command issues. Boom or bust this season.
30. Scott McGough Oregon – RHP/SS
31. Kyle McMyne Villanova – RHP
32. Zach Cone Georgia – OF Very athletic. Power potential. Excellent speed. Very raw with high upside.
33. Kyle Gaedele Valparaiso – OF
34. Preston Tucker Florida – 3B
35. CJ Cron Utah – C
36. Grayson Garvin Vanderbilt – LHP Right here is where the depth of this draft class really starts to show up. At #37 you have an excellent prospect capable of being a big league #2/3 starter. Tall Lefty. FB at 89-93, Excellent CH, Great CB, Excellent command, Very nice mechanics. A true “pitcher”.
37. Cody Asche Nebraska – 1B/3B/OF
38. Ricky Oropesa USC – 1B/3B All power, all the time. Power like his = $
39. Brad Miller Clemson – IF/SS/3B One of my favorite sleepers in this entire draft. Awesome stroke and some nice pop.
40. Jason Coats TCU – OF
41. Adam Conley Washington St. – LHP
42. Levi Michael North Carolina – OF/SS Nice bat with power.
43. Bryan Harper South Carolina – LHP
44. Joe Panik St. Johns – OF/SS
45. Logan Verrett Baylor – RHP FB at 90-93. Nice secondary pitches. Nothing that wow’s you but very effective.
46. Anthony Meo Coastal Carolina – RHP
47. Zach Wilson Arizona St. – OF/3B
48. Noe Ramirez Fullerton – RHP
49. Ronnie Richardson Central Florida – OF
