Louisville redshirt sophomore LHP Keith Landers will be out until the second half of the season after undergoing his second surgery in the fall of 2010 after feeling discomfort in his throwing arm. He missed the entire 2010 season after undergoing surgery on the pitching arm in the fall of 2009. Keith made three appearances as a freshman in 2009 totaling 9.1 innings while going 1-0 with a 3.86 after being an 18th round selection by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2008 MLB Draft.
Coach McDonnell of Louisville stated “We hope to have him down the stretch, 2nd half of the year. He’s a monster.”
If Landers comes back at 100 percent, it will help solidify the Cardinals pitching staff which lost number 1 starter Thomas Royse to graduation.
