MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State head baseball coach Brad Hill announced Friday that assistant coach Andy Sawyers has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
“I appreciate Andy’s hard work during his two years in Manhattan,” Hill said. “He had a tremendous impact on our program and we wish him well in the future.”
With Sawyers helping direct the Wildcat offense, K-State led the Big 12 in hitting each of the last two years. The Wildcats hit .323 as a team in 2010, while Sawyers also tutored Nick Martini to Big 12 Player of the Year honors last season as the sophomore led the conference with a .416 average.
A national search will begin immediately for Sawyers’ replacement.
