Elizabeth D. Samet, an English Professor at the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), had her streak of being the good luck charm for the Black Knights baseball squad snapped in the 2010 Patriot League Semifinals by Bucknell.
Samet became one of the team’s faculty representatives during the 2009 season when the Black Knights faced off against Holy Cross. The team was coming off a tough sweep by the Crusaders on Saturday when Ms. Samet attended the first game on Sunday. The team came through with an 8-1 victory when Coach Sottalano turned to Samet and told her to stay for the next game. The team proceeded to win the next game and continued Samet’s streak to ten games before the Semifinal loss to Bucknell.
