JONESBORO, Ark. (12/9/10) –The Arkansas State baseball team took time out of their preparation for finals this past weekend to take part in the Celebrity Bell Ringer event for the Salvation Army this past Saturday (Dec. 4).

It marked the third year in a row that the ASU baseball team has donated it’s time to help collect donations for the Salvation Army.

“We were very excited to participate in the Salvation Army Celebrity Bell Ringers event again this year,” said ASU head coach Tommy Raffo. “We feel it is very important for our program to establish a tradition of giving back to the community. We are grateful for the opportunity to represent ASU and the ASU Baseball program for the third year in a row. It is critical for our team to know how special it is to share their time and effort for those in need. We had a wonderful time again this year.”

The Red Wolves joined other local celebrities collecting donations for the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas Campaign.

The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign enables the Army to provide food, toys and clothing to over 6 million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recovering from all kinds of personal disasters nationwide.
