MOUNT PLEASANT — Early season trips to Florida and Las Vegas, a four-game set at Missouri and home games against Michigan and Michigan State highlight the 2011 Central Michigan baseball schedule.
The defending Mid-American Conference champion Chippewas (36-22 in 2010) open the year with a three-game set against Florida Gulf Coast before heading west for a four-game series against UNLV.
CMU returns to the Sunshine State the following two weeks during spring break for eight games, including four as part of the RussMatt Tournament.
Theunissen Stadium opens its doors on March 15 against Madonna followed by a four-game series at Missouri. The home slate then gets into full swing, with Bowling Green visiting Mount Pleasant for a nonconference game and the open of MAC play with a three-game set against Miami.
The Chippewas host Michigan on April 6 and Michigan State on April 20 (at Dow Diamond) and May 11. Other home MAC series include 2010 East Division champion Kent State (April 15-17) and divisional foes Northern Illinois (April 39-May 1) and Toledo (May 6-8).
The regular season wraps up with a three-game series at Eastern Michigan (May 19-21). The MAC Tournament kicks off on May 25 and runs through May 28 in Chillicothe, Ohio.
