New UNLV head coach Tim Chambers enters his first season in charge of the Rebels baseball program. He is taking over a program that had a disappointing 2009 campaign as they went 29-29 overall while going 11-13 in the Mountain West Conference. Chambers takes over from Buddy Gouldsmith who was in charge of the program for seven seasons.
Once Tim got the job at UNLV coming over from College of Southern Nevada, a couple of major donors lined up to help out the Rebels program. They have raised between 60,000 and 100,000 for improvements for a new clubhouse, a new synthetic outfield surface, an overhang for the bleachers, a two-story press box, new batting cages and a video scoreboard.
