VMIField LEXINGTON, Va. – Nachion Moore, a former Big South player, has been named VMI baseball’s new volunteer assistant coach according to information released by the program Tuesday.

Moore was a four-year veteran of the Big South ranks as a utility infielder and catcher. He played under two different coaching staffs at Radford, including current coach Joe Raccuia, and was an active member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. He also was nominated for the NCAA Leadership Conference during his time as a Highlander, which concluded the 2009 season. Moore graduated from Radford in May of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine.

“I am excited to have Nachion on staff, he has a passion to coach and will be a great addition to our program,” said VMI head coach Marlin Ikenberry. “He has coached the last two summers, and brings great energy to the field every day.”

The newest addition to the Keydet staff, Moore is currently employed in the business world at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, Va., acting as an assistant to a Physical Therapist. He has also worked in a similar position in Blacksburg, Va., during his undergraduate career.
