STANFORD, Calif.– Stanford Baseball announced its 2011 schedule, with road trips scheduled to Rice, Vanderbilt and Texas to start the season and home series with Michigan, Long Beach State, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington and Arizona.
Stanford will host 27 home contests this season, beginning with a Tuesday opener against Cal on February 22. Fireworks Night will be the series opener with Washington on May 6. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-STANFORD or going on gostanford.com.
The Cardinal open the season on the road for three-straight weekends, all NCAA Regional opponents– at Rice on February 18-20, at Vanderbilt on February 25-27 and at Texas on March 4-6.
The road schedule for the conference season will include the Pac-10 opener at Washington State April 1-3, as well as series at USC (April 8-10), Arizona State (April 29-May 1), at Oregon (May 13-15) and at Cal (May 27-29) to close out the regular season.
Northern California midweek games will include: Cal, UC Davis, Santa Clara, Pacific, San Francisco, San Jose State, Cal Poly and Saint Mary’s.
Mark Marquess will begin his 35th season at the helm of his alma mater in 2011 after going 31-25 last season. Eight teams from the Pac-10, including Stanford made the post-season.
