And former B-CU LHP and student assistant coach in 2010 Matthew Crane will coach the pitchers and help Melendez with the pitching staff in 2010-2011.

Jason Arnold, B-CU’s Assistant Coach/pitching coach the past two seasons was named the pitching coach at Georgia State University in July.

Coach Melendez talked about his 2010-2011 coaching staff. “I am very happy with our coaching staff for the upcoming season. Jose deserves his promotion and has been a big factor in all our success. Drew (Clark) is the right person for the job and he showed last season in his first year as a coach to be a great worker and a key to our coaching staff.”

Clark, a native of nearby Deltona, Florida and a former Pine Ridge High School baseball standout, played four seasons with the Wildcats (2006-2009). Clark played in over 150 career games with the Wildcats during his collegiate playing career helping lead the team to 3 MEAC Championships and three NCAA regional appearances.
