COCA COLA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Steve Selsky, Orleans, OF
Cape League veterans have swept this week’s award presentation, with Steve Selsky (Arizona) earning the Coca Cola Player of the Week award. Selsky wore Firebird colors in 2009, and rejoined the team this summer. Over five games last week, Selsky batted .438 with two home runs, while hitting safely in each game and stealing a base. He has shown promising development in his two years on the Cape. His batting average stands 15 points higher than his final average last year, and he has already doubled last year’s home run output with four, good for second most in the league. Selsky was named a Freshman All-American in 2009 and was selected in the 34th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft.
