The Cape Cod Baseball League had a great pitching matchup on Saturday June 26th with LSU junior RHP Anthony Ranaudo facing off against UConn sophomore RHP Matt Barnes. Ranaudo’s Brewster Whitecaps picked up a 5-3 victory over the Barnes’ Wareham Gatemen. Ranaudo went 6.2 innings while letting up only one hit and one walk while striking out eight batters. Matt Barnes ended up going seven innings allowing four hits while giving up one run and striking out 14 batters. The other interesting piece of news is that Arizona State LHP Josh Spence continued his run in the CCBL by pitching three innings giving up three hits while giving up one earned run. He spoke with us after his start last week and it can be checked out by clicking here.
