Cal State Fullerton 11 New Mexico 3

FULLERTON, CA – Cal State Fullerton’s Corey Jones finished with three hits, including his seventh home run of the season, and three RBI to lead a trio of Titans with three hits on the day, helping his team to an 11-3 victory over third-seeded New Mexico in an elimination game at the 2010 NCAA Baseball Regional at Goodwin Field.

Top-seeded Fullerton (43-16 overall, 2-1 in NCAA Regional play) advances to the regional championship against unbeaten and fourth-seeded Minnesota later tonight at 8 p.m. PDT. Should the Titans defeat the Golden Gophers, the two teams would meet in a winner-take-all game seven on Monday night (June 7) at 8 p.m. PDT.

Cal-State Fullerton 7 Minnesota 2

FULLERTON, CA – Sophomore right-hander Colin O’Connell pitched a complete-game seven-hitter while striking out a career-high nine batters to help lift top-seeded Cal State Fullerton to a 7-2 victory over Minnesota on Sunday night at Goodwin Field and force a regional-deciding game seven.

The Titans (44-16 overall, 3-1 in NCAA Regional play) avenged a 3-1 loss in their regional opener against the fourth-seeded Golden Gophers (32-29, 2-1) and forced a winner-take-all game between the two squads on Monday night (June 7) at 8 p.m. PDT. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN-U.
