ILLINOIS def. PURDUE, 7-0

Freshman Kevin Johnson tossed a complete-game shutout to lead Illinois to a 7-0 victory over Purdue on Saturday to even the series at 1-1. Johnson allowed six hits and two walks with four strikeouts en route to his fifth win of the season. Calvin Gunter took the loss for the Boilermakers. Casey McMurray led the Illini offense, going 2-for-2 with a double, two runs, two RBI and a pair of walks. Willie Argo went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and a stolen base. Tyler Spillner paced Purdue at the plate with a 3-for-5 performance.

MICHIGAN STATE def. INDIANA, 10-4

Redshirt freshman Ryan Jones went 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle to lead Michigan State to a come-from-behind win over Indiana on Saturday to go up 2-0 in the series. Trey Popp earned the win in relief, giving up just one unearned run in 2.1 innings. Jerrud Sabourin took the loss for the Hoosiers. Alex Dickerson hit his 22nd home run for Indiana, while Michael Earley, Tyler Rogers and Blake Monar had two hits each for IU.

IOWA def. OHIO STATE, 4-3

Iowa scored four unanswered runs en route to a 4-3 win over Ohio State on Saturday, earning the series win. Mike Corbeil and Tyson Blaser led the Hawkeyes with two hits and two RBI each, while Ryan Durant also had a pair of hits and scored two runs. Zach Robertson picked up the win in relief, while Nick Brown was effective in the start, allowing two earned runs in 6.2 innings. Dean Wolosiansky took the loss for the Buckeyes. Zach Hurley fronted OSU on offense, going 2-for-4.

NORTHWESTERN def. MICHIGAN, 10-8

Jack Havey hit his first collegiate home run, doubled twice and drove in five runs to lead Northwestern to a 10-8 win over Michigan to even the series, 1-1. Havey was one of four Wildcats with three hits in the game, joining Trevor Stevens, Arby Fields and Geoff Rowan. Fields tacked on two runs and an RBI, while Rowan scored twice. Michael Jahns picked up the win in relief, while Tyler Burgoon was tagged with the loss for the Wolverines. Michigan hit four home runs in the game, including one each by Chris Berset and Coley Crank, who both had two hits in the contest.

MINNESOTA def. PENN STATE, 5-1

TJ Oakes pitched a career-high eight innings and allowed just one run as Minnesota secured the series win with a 5-1 win over Penn State, claiming sole possession of first place in the Big Ten standings. Three Gophers finished the game with two hits each. AJ Pettersen went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, Andy Henkemeyer was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, while Matt Puhl was 2-for-4 with a run. Louie Picconi led the Nittany Lions, going 1-for-2 with an RBI, while Steven Hill took the loss.
