WAC commissioner Karl Benson announced that Hawai’i baseball coach Mike Trapasso was reprimanded for violating the conference’s sportsmanship code. The incident occurred after a loss by a score of 11-6 to Sacramento State on April 16th where he publically criticized the officials by calling them “horrible,” “arrogant,” and “an embarrassment to that profession”. I personally find this sort of comments deplorable and the reprimand was definitely needed by the conference.
The pressure with the Warriors might be getting to Coach Trapasso as they had a strong start to the season before starting out a disappointing 2-6 in conference play. You can check out the full press release from the WAC below.
