ATLANTA – Brandon Cumpton scattered three runs over 7.0 innings, while Jeff Rowland drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh to give fifth-ranked Georgia Tech (30-5, 14-3 ACC) a 4-3 win and series clinch over No. 19 Clemson (23-13, 10-7 ACC) Saturday at Russ Chandler Stadium.

"It was a good day for us, a big win and another series win against a very good team," head coach Danny Hall said. "I thought he [Brandon Cumpton] competed very well today. To limit them to the amount of runs that they got, it was a great start by him."

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 13th ranked University of Miami baseball team continued its power surge Saturday night, getting home runs from Ryan Perry and Harold Martinez en route to an 11-1 win over No. 21 North Carolina at Alex Rodriguez Park. Martinez’s homer – a three-run shot in the fifth – was his team-leading 11th this season, his fifth in UM’s last 10 games and his second in as many nights against UNC (22-15, 6-11 ACC).

Boston College 5 Wake Forest 3

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Wake Forest loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the ninth, but a strikeout and a 1-2-5 game-ending double play gave the Boston College baseball team a thrilling 5-3 win Saturday at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at Commander Shea Field.

The Demon Deacons loaded the bases thanks to a single, a walk and a hit batsman. Sophomore Taylor Lasko got Trenton Langston to fan at strike three for the inning’s first out. Sophomore Matt Brazis came on to close the game and induced Pat Blair into a comebacker. Brazis took his time going home and got the first out but junior Garret Smith had no time to convert the double play at first. Steven Brooks, who had been on second, overran the third base bag though and Smith gunned him down on a close play to end the game.
