AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn opened the game by scoring four first-inning runs to turn the tables on No. 3 LSU, racing out to a 9-2 lead, before holding on for an 11-7, series-evening win on Saturday afternoon at Plainsman Park. The win was Auburn’s first over LSU since the 2007 season, snapping an eight-game slide against to its SEC rival.
Sean Ray (2-1) picked up the win for Auburn (21-11, 6-5 SEC), entering in the second for starter Jon Luke Jacobs, who left with a tender shoulder. After allowing a leadoff walk to score in the second, Ray kept the LSU (26-5, 8-3 SEC) hitters off balance for the next three-plus innings, allowing five hits and three walks with three strike outs, ultimately getting charged for two runs.
#9 Arkansas 8 Mississippi State 5
STARKVILLE, Miss. – The No. 9 University of Arkansas baseball team won game two of its weekend series at Mississippi State, 8-5, Saturday afternoon at Dudy Noble Field. Monk Kreder was 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead a group of four Hogs with two hits. Arkansas (25-6, 8-3 SEC) finished the game with 12 hits. For the 10th consecutive game, the Razorback offense posted a double-digit hit total, the longest such streak since the 2003 team had 12 straight games with at least 10 hits.
"We’ve had a lot of guys come through," head coach Dave Van Horn said. "I feel like we have some depth and if somebody got hurt, we’d have a guy or two that could come in and do the job. We’ve had to mix and match with our infield and outfield. Monk Kreder has done a good job at first and catching. We’ve just had some guys step it up and it’s been fun to watch. The experience they’re gaining is going to help us throughout the season."

Tennessee 12 #10 Florida 4
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee baseball team scored in five of the first six innings and senior starter Stephen McCray pitched into the seventh, holding eighth-ranked Florida to just a single run as the Volunteers evened the series against the Gators with a 12-4 victory on Saturday afternoon at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
"Steven McCray obviously did a great job for us today, much like he did last week," UT Head Coach Todd Raleigh said. "He settled in again, gave up some hits but seemed to strand the runners. Offensively, we hit the ball hard all day. Matt Ramsey gave us a lift and P.J. Polk was tremendous for us again but the big one was Cody Hawn’s double. We had two outs when he hit that one just inside the line. We ended up scoring all four of those runs (in the fifth) and three more in the sixth after having two outs and nobody on. That’s big for us."
