Sophomore Tyler Anderson went the distance for the Ducks striking out 10, walking none, giving up only 4 hits and yet took the tough luck loss as a typical ASU rotation was even more effective. Junior Seth Blair went 7.0 innings, struck out 5, also walked none and gave up just 5 hits. Sophomore Mitchell Lambson walked one in the eight inning to make it interesting while Sophomore Jordan Swagerty hit the first batter he faced in the ninth to add even more excitement to the game. Yet the Ducks were unable to take advantage and instead the Sun Devils extended the nations best record to 24 straight victories to start the season which is now the record for the second best winning streak in team history.
Oregon freshman J.J. Altobelli was the only player multi-hit player collecting two singles and reaching base for a third time after he was hit by a pitch by Blair.
Because of Easter Sunday game two is schedule for Friday night weather permitting (strong winds, heavy rain and possible snow is forecast) with the final game scheduled for Saturday.
