The College Baseball Blog is pleased to announce our Players of the Week for March 23rd. Auburn’s Hunter Morris is our Player of the Week while Stanford pitcher RHP Jordan Pries is our Pitcher of the Week.
Auburn’s Hunter Morris hit a team-best .625 (10-for-16) with a double and four home runs, driving in 14 RBI, including a team-high nine on Sunday. In Friday’s opener he was 4-for-6 with five RBI and then he was 5-for-6 in the sweep-clinching win on Sunday, hitting two home runs, one of which was his first career grand slam. He finished the weekend with a 1.438 slugging percentage, scored seven runs and had two stolen bases as Auburn earned its first sweep in SEC play since the 2003 season. Morris is now hitting on the season .425 with eight homers and 31 RBI.
Stanford’s Jordan Pries pitched a complete game shutout against Pepperdine on Saturday evening. He went nine innings allowing only two hits and two walks while striking out six batters in a 10-0 victory over the Waves. Pries is now 2-1 with a 3.33 ERA in 27 innings of work.
