The College Baseball Blog for the third straight season will be providing our National Players of the Week. This week we honor Texas A&M senior center fielder Brodie Greene and Pepperdine junior LHP Matt Bywater.
Greene had an outstanding weekend which saw him hit hit .727 (8-for-11) with two triples, six RBIs and three stolen bases. He reached base in 10 of his 14 plate appearances, scoring seven of those times, and posted a slugging percentage of 1.091 and an .833 average with runners in scoring position.
Matt Bywater had an excellent start on Saturday evening against number 4 ranked Cal-State Fullerton in which the Waves won 6-0. Bywater pitched a complete game scattering four hits and striking out 10 batters. He now has a career record of 13-4 along with 107 strikeouts and an earned-run average of 4.67.

With all due respect to Texas A&M senior center fielder Brodie Greene , but what about Zack MacPhee from Arizona State? He also hit .727 (8 for 11), but he had 8 RBIs. I would say that’s one hell of a performance TCBB is overlooking.
