Stony Brook signs five for 2010-2011 Season
Stony Brook, N.Y. – Stony Brook University head baseball coach Matt Senk announced today that five student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to play baseball for Stony Brook beginning in 2011. The five player class is made up of Bryan Tatleman (South Windsor, Conn.), Kevin Courtney (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), Frankie Vanderka (Levittown, N.Y.) , Josh Mason (Woodland Hills, Calif.) and Mike Hubbard (Northridge, Calif.).
Arkansas Little Rock signs 11 for 2010-2011 Season
LITTLE ROCK – UALR head baseball coach Scott Norwoodsigned 11 new players during the fall period, a group consisting of eight junior-college players and local high school standoutsJordan Spears (North Little Rock, Ark./Sylvan Hills), Andrew Hohn (N. Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock HS) and Marshall Krupka (Rogers, Ark./Rogers HS).
“We’re excited about the guys we signed. I think this is a class that will be able to push us forward. We were able to address some areas of need where we’ll be hit by graduation after this year,” said Norwood. “We’re getting into great junior college programs right now that have a strong interest in our program. At the same time, we were able to sign three very talented in-state players, including two from Little Rock, that will be the cornerstone of our rebuilding efforts.”
Maryland signs nine for 2010-2011 Season
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland head baseball coach Erik Bakich today announced the signing of nine student-athletes during the fall signing period in what is the first part of his initial recruiting class at Maryland. The Terps are expected to add a number of recruits to the class when the spring signing period begins in April.
Bakich and his staff, who have made recruiting locally a top priority, signed a number of talented local players, as well as several from across the country. The class features seven prep players and two junior college transfers; six of the seven prep players are ranked in the top two of their respective state rankings.
NC State signs 9 for 2010-2011 Season
RALEIGH, N.C. — Looking to fill specific needs, NC State baseball coach Elliott Avent and his staff signed nine players to grants-in-aid during the November signing period. The Wolfpack signed four pitchers, one catcher, one infielder and three outfielders. Four signees are in-state players, five are high school signees and four are junior college transfers.
“This class was small but to the point,” Wolfpack associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Tom Holliday said. “It was a good follow-up to a great class last year. We didn’t need numbers this time around, but we did have specific needs, and we filled them with some real quality players.”
Toledo announces Seven Signees for 2010-2011 Season
TOLEDO, OH – The University of Toledo baseball program received committments from seven recruits for the 2010-11 season, head coach Cory Mee announced today.
Joining the Rockets in the fall of 2010 will be Eric Croak (Toledo, OH – St. John’s Jesuit), Trever Gast (Jenera, OH – Arlington), Zack Michael (Powell, OH – Olentangy Liberty), James Miglin (Warsaw, IN – Warsaw Community), Jacob North (Barberton, OH – Barberton), Adam Tyson (Wayne, OH – Elmwood) and Ryan Wilkinson (Munster, IN – Munster).
Elon adds Eight for 2010-2011 Season
ELON, N.C. — Elon Phoenix baseball head coach Mike Kennedy has announced that he has signed eight players to National Letters of Intent for the 2011 season. Joining the Phoenix next year will be: Scott Carcaise (Maple Shade, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep), Ryan Kinsella (Warren, N.J./Morristown-Beard School), Garrett Koster (Fort Mill, S.C./Walters State CC), Jake Luce (Fairview, Texas/Jefferson College), Ryan Pennell (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Rye Neck), C.J. Riefenhauser (Mahopac, N.Y./Chipola College), Eric Serra (Miami, Fla./Florida Christian) and David Whitehead (West Chester, Ohio/Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller).
Cal-State Bakersfield signs Five for 2010-2011 Season
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A quintet of players signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period, CSUB baseball Head Coach Bill Kernen announced Thursday, as the program begins to reload with the impending graduation of 10 seniors following the 2010 season.
Nick Bartolone, Cael Brockmeyer, Kyle Desimone, Oscar Sanay and Victor Soto will all don a Roadrunner uniform in 2011, Bakersfield’s first season of NCAA Division I Championship eligibility.
