Top 100 Countdown: Number 57 Eric Harrington (Lamar)

EricHarringtonLamar The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 57 in our countdown with Lamar sophomore RHP Eric Harrington. He is from Groves Texas and attended Port Neches-Groves High School where he had an outstanding career. He was a three-time All-District selection while being named All-State as a senior in 2008 following an 8-1 campaign with a 1.03 ERA . He was also strong in his junior season with a 10-2 record with a 2.52 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 71.3 innings pitched. He also hit .340 while playing center field. As a sophomore, he posted a 1-1 record with a 2.33 ERA and hit .300 at the plate while picking up district Newcomer of the Year.

 

Harrington stepped right into the Lamar rotation in 2009 as he made 15 appearances including 14 starts. He finished the season with a 8-1 record with a 3.01 ERA Harrington Action Photo while striking out 63 batters in 83.2 innings of work. He also tossed two complete game shutouts on the season. He was named a freshman All-American by the NCBWA and Louisville Slugger.
