ZacBischoff FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team is busy this off season with practice, weights, school and community service. The Bulldogs spent a couple hours after practice on Oct. 23 reading with students at Kratt Elementary.

Pitcher Zac Bischoff, outfielders Dusty Robinson and Steve Detwiler read some of their favorite children’s book to a group of young students. The purpose of the event is to get students excited about reading.

"It was a lot of fun. It was cool to see kids in the community and see them get excited about reading," said Bischoff. "It was cool to see how much we mean to them and see what we are doing is influencing people outside of baseball."

There were 35 students in attendance and they got an opportunity to ask some of their favorite Bulldogs about baseball, college and homework.

This is the second year that the baseball team has attended the event at Kratt Elementary.
