MarkKingstonIllinoisState NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbird baseball team will open its annual fall series and host an alumni hospitality tent in conjunction with Illinois State’s homecoming festivities Saturday morning at Duffy Bass Field, head coach Mark Kingston announced Wednesday.

Illinois State will play the first of a scheduled three-game, intra-squad series at 10 a.m., and has invited all former players and their families, as well as Dugout Club members, to a complimentary hospitality tent down the right field line during and after Saturday morning’s game. The game is free and open to the general public.

"We’re excited to see our alumni and biggest supporters, on what should be a great day for Redbird athletics," Kingston said. "The fall series is always a good time because it’s the culmination of the players’ hard work over the summer and through the team’s fall practices. We’re continuing to build our team for the spring and these three games will give us a glimpse of where we are in that process."

Kevin Tokarski, a sophomore infielder who missed fall practice while recovering from a wrist injury, was chosen as the manager for the Red squad and Mark Evans, a senior utility player who is also sidelined with an injury, was tabbed to lead the Black team. The second game of the series will be played Monday at 4 p.m. and the series finale will be played Wednesday at 4 p.m.
